The Surrounding Communities
Olivet College is situated in rural Eaton County approximately 30 miles south of Lansing. Among the communities surrounding Olivet are Charlotte, Battle Creek, Lansing and Marshall. For more information about what each community has to offer Olivet College students, visit the Web sites below.

Battle Creek Area Visitors Bureau
Battle Creek is located along I-94 in Calhoun County,
20 miles from the Olivet College campus offering numerous year-round attractions, sporting events and cultural experiences. Battle Creek has abundant natural resources making it perfect for outdoor activities such as biking, camping, boating and swimming. Areas of interest for students include: Turkeyville USA, Binder Park Zoo, Firekeepers Casino, Battle Creek Art Center, Leila Arboretum, Balloon Festival and Air Show, Fort Custer State Park, Gary Fields Comedy Club, Arcadia Brew Pub, Kellogg Arena and a wide variety of restaurants, movie theatres, bowling alleys and lodging.

Charlotte Chamber of Commerce
The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce encompasses the City of Charlotte and surrounding communities of Olivet and Bellevue. The area retains a rural atmosphere but is ideally
located so that educational, cultural and recreational amenities are easily accessible. Various community organizations, recreational opportunities, historical societies, churches and a variety of local events and festivals add to our small-town charm. Charlotte is conveniently located less than one half hour away from Olivet, Lansing and
Battle Creek.

Marshall Chamber of Commerce

Because of its central location, Marshall is close to some of Michigan’s most notable attractions.The new Firekeepers Casino recently opened just west of town. Binder Park Zoo is a favorite in nearby Battle Creek, and the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo gives you an educational, “total flight experience.” Marshall is also home to the oldest county fair in the state, dating
back to 1848. Each fall, Marshall hosts a historic home tour voted best in the state by Michigan Living magazine. Marshall’s rich history, restaurants, shopping, recreation, museums, events and area attractions are all a short distance from Olivet College.
