Associate Professor of Psychology
Dina M. Battaglia, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology, has worked at Olivet College since 2008.
Battaglia teaches a variety of psychology courses including General Psychology, Social Psychology, Positive Psychology, Intimate Relationships, Introduction to Personality, Human Sexuality, Cognition & Perception, Child & Adolescent Psychology, Psychology Lab, and Psychology Practicum. In addition to the aforementioned core courses in psychology, Dr. Battaglia is the instructor for the Psychology Seminar.
Battaglia earned a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, as well as from the Arizona State University Honors College. Prior to attending graduate school at Texas Christian University, where she earned both her Masters of Science and doctorate degrees in psychology, Battaglia worked at South Dakota State University as the Research Assistant to the Director of Institutional Research.
Battaglia began her teaching career as a Visiting Professor of Psychology at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Since then, Battaglia has taught at several schools in Indiana including the University of Indianapolis and Earlham College.
Battaglia has published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and has been interviewed about her research for a feature article for Psychology Today. Her teaching efforts have also been recognized by receiving the Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award as a graduate student and the Psychology Professor of the Year Award while at the University of Indianapolis.
DBattaglia is currently the advisor for the Olivet College Psychology Club and the Olivet College chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society for undergraduate psychology majors.
