Women's Golf Team
OLIVET, Mich. -- The Olivet College women's golf team has been named the Comet of the Week for May 16, 2011.
The Comets finished in a tie for 10th-place at the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championships May 10-12 at the Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Olivet, who was competing at its fifth straight national championships, posted its best finish since its first trip in 2007 when it placed ninth.
Representing the Comets were junior Lauren Campbell, of Fenton; senior Amber Conrad, of Battle Creek; freshman Theresa Damico, of White Lake; freshman Adrienne Jones, of Redford; and senior Abby Wheeler, of Grayling. Conrad led Olivet with a three-round total of 248 strokes for an 82.7 average. Campbell was next at 251, followed by Wheeler 261, Jones 263 and Damico 273.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
