OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College senior goalkeeper Alyssa Budros of Traverse City is the Comet of the Week for Oct. 11.
In goal, Budros posted back-to-back 2-0 shutouts, as the Comets defeated Trine (Ind.) University Oct. 5 and Kalamazoo College Oct. 9. In the win over Trine, she made two saves and against Kalamazoo, she collected eight saves. The wins propelled Olivet into a tie for first-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings.
For the season, Budros has played in 13 games, starting 12, and recorded a 0.80 goals against average. She has also made 71 saves for an .877 save percentage.
Olivet (11-2-2, 2-1-1 MIAA) will host Albion College Wednesday at 4 p.m. and travel to play Adrian College Saturday at noon.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
