OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College senior goalkeeper Ethan Felsing of Mason is the Comet of the Week for Oct. 4.
Felsing played all 200 minutes in goal last week for the Comets, as they beat Alma College, 3-1, Sept. 28 and tied Calvin College, 0-0, in double overtime Oct. 2. In the win over Alma, he faced 14 shots and made seven saves. In the tie against Calvin, Felsing collected eight saves, including a couple diving stops. The Knights entered the game ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA Central Region poll and No. 6 in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll.
For the season, Felsing has started all 10 games in goal and recorded a 0.73 goals against average with six shutouts. He has also made 49 saves for an .875 save percentage.
Olivet (7-2-1, 2-1-1 MIAA) will play two home games this week. On Wednesday, the Comets host Trine (Ind.) University at 4 p.m., and on Saturday, they welcome Adrian for a 2:30 p.m. game.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
