OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College sophomore swimmer Crystal Jager of Dorr is the Comet of the Week for Jan. 17.
Jager helped the Comets beat Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 107-96, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual meet Jan. 15 at the Rolfs Aquatic Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Jager won the 100 breaststroke in a time of one minute, 8.63 seconds, which just .22 seconds slower than own school record time of one minute, 8.41 seconds. She also teamed with Jacalyn Cordero, Emily LaPorta and Kristin Long for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay at 1:56.95. In her third event, the 200 individual medley, Jager placed second, finishing in a personal-best time of 2:18.56.
Olivet will compete at Albion College on Friday evening at 6 p.m. for a non-conference meet, and then travel to Alma College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. MIAA meet.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
