OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College junior swimmer Caitlin Lohr of Hamilton and sophomore wrestler James Myers of Wintersville, Ohio, share Comet of the Week honors for Dec. 6.
Lohr took second-place in the 50 freestyle at the 2010 Calvin College Winter Invitational. During the preliminaries, she clocked-in at 23.74 seconds, which is a strong NCAA Championships provisional qualifying time.
Lohr and the Comets will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for its winter training trip Dec. 28-Jan. 4 and then return to action Jan. 15 at Saint Mary's (Ind.) College.
Myers won the 157-pound title and helped Olivet finish in third-place at the Ohio Northern University Polar Bear Invitational Dec. 4 at the ONU Sports Center in Ada, Ohio. Seeded sixth, he posted a 5-0 record, including a 7-5 win over the top seed in the championship match.
The Comets return to action this Saturday, Dec. 11, at the North Central (Ill.) College.
Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
