OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College sophomore Ciara Santos, of Lansing, has earned Comet of the Week honors for May 2.

Santos hit the game-winning home run in Olivet's 5-4 win over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College April 29. The next day against Kalamazoo College, she hit another home run to give her five during the 2011 season. The five homers ties her for the fourth most in a single-season in school history.

For the week, Santos scored a team-leading five runs to go along with a .417 batting average (5-for-12) and four RBI. She had 11 total bases for a .917 slugging percentage.

Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
