2010-11 Wrestling Team

OLIVET, Mich. -- The 2010-11 Olivet College wrestling team has been named the Comet of the Week for Jan. 5.

After posting a 2-2 record, including a win over Saint John's (Minn.) University, at Desert Duals in Las Vegas, the wrestling team climbed up to No. 8 in the Brute/Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III rankings. The Comets are ranked in the top 10 for the first time since Nov. 13, 2007, when they were ninth.

In addition, Olivet has four wrestlers in the individual rankings for their respective weight class. Senior Vince Tucker is seventh at 141, sophomore James Myers is eighth at 157 and seniors Trevor Tyler and Jim Neal are 10th at 174 and 184, respectively.

After winning 34-10 last night at College of Mt. St. Joseph (Ohio), the Comets return to action Saturday at the MSU Duals in East Lansing.

Olivet's sports information office will select a Comet of the Week throughout the remainder of the 2010-11 academic year. The athlete will be featured on the home page of the athletics Web site at www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics.
