Hans Morgan is in his seventh year as the head coach of Olivet’s women’s soccer program.
In his first six seasons, Morgan has helped the program post an improvement in overall style of play, number of victories and placement in the MIAA standings.
In addition to success on the field, the Comets have also received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award, as well as the MIAA Team GPA Award, four of the last five years.
Prior to coming to Olivet, Morgan was an assistant women’s soccer coach at Eastern Michigan University. He also served as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Western Michigan University (WMU) for two years. Morgan’s background includes serving as head coach at Portage Northern High School.
Morgan played on the 1992 state champion Mason High School team. After high school, he earned three letters at WMU. Morgan also played for a year with the semi-pro club Belconnen United in Australia.
Morgan, a 1996 graduate of WMU, lives in Marshall with wife, Shelley. They have three children, Landon (7), Shea (6) and Emma (2).
Tanja Rupert is in her second season as an assistant varsity and head junior varsity women’s soccer coach at Olivet.
In 2004, Rupert earned a bachelor’s degree and in 2007, she received a teaching certificate from Olivet. She is currently taking classes to complete a special education teaching certificate from the college.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Rupert was a four-year letterwinner as a goalkeeper for the Comets. In 1998, she led Olivet to the MIAA Tournament championship and earned second-team All-MIAA honors.

Earnest "Bubby" Leasure

Earnest “Bubby” Leasure is in his first season as an assitant soccer coach. He is serving as the goalkeepers’ coach for the men’s and women’s teams.
Prior to coming to Olivet this fall, Leasure was the head goalkeeper coach for the Countryside Youth Soccer Association and Blackwatch Youth Soccer in Tampa Bay, Fla.
In 2000, Leasure graduated from University of South Florida (USF) with a bachelor’s degree in criminology. He played soccer at the University of Tampa before transferring to USF. At USF, Leasure was twice voted the Conference USA Player of the Week.
As a youth, Leasure played for the six-time state championship team, the Tampa Bay Kickers. He was a member of the Florida State team and the U.S. national pool. Leasure was the starting goalkeeper for the 1993 and 1995 Bloomingdale (Fla.) High School state championship teams. He was an All-State selection and received the Mike Dodd Memorial Scholarship and Tampa Bay Athlete of the Year award.
Leasure, who resides in Holt with wife and two dogs, Koby and Wrigley, is an assistant boy’s varsity soccer coach at Haslett High School.
