Olivet College to conclude presidential inauguration with Community Block Party
Aug 26, 2011

Olivet College’s Office of Student Life will host a Community Block Party Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the College Square. The event concludes the inauguration ceremony of Steven M. Corey, Ph.D., who will officially be installed as Olivet’s 27th president at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.

Members of the community are invited to join students, employees and guests at the free event, which includes inflatable games, carnival games and prizes, and activities such as build-a-bear, a craft table and “The Big Red Chair.” Live music from local bands Global Village and The JHD will also be featured. In addition, the college will host its annual Stand-up event at the block party.

Chartwells, the college’s food service provider, will offer slow roasted barbecued pork, blackened tilapia filets, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, cold salad, dessert and drinks for $6 per person.

For more information about this event or the official inauguration ceremony, contact Molly Goaley, director of media relations and senior writer, at (269) 749-7141 or mgoaley@olivetcollege.edu.
