Olivet College Performing Arts Department to host events in October

The Olivet College Performing Arts Department is hosting a series of concerts and performances on campus throughout the month of October. All events are free and open to the public.

Homecoming festivities kickoff Saturday, Oct. 15 with a Homecoming Collage Concert from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Olivet Congregational Church. The Olivet College choral ensembles, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band will perform.

Also during Homecoming, senior Mark Gouba, of Novi, will perform his one-man musical theatre production titled “The Possible Dream.” Gouba will perform scenes, monologues and vocal selections from various plays and musicals at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15, at the Oaks Theatre.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., Performing Arts Department chair, music program director and assistant professor of music, will direct a choral concert titled “The Magic of Mozart.” The College Choir, Chamber Singers and guests will perform secular and sacred works by Mozart at 3 p.m. in the Olivet Congregational Church. Ramona Kime, Ph.D., associate professor of music, will accompany the ensembles.
