Olivet College to host scholarship competition for high school students
Jan 25, 2012
Olivet College will host its inaugural Global Citizen Honors Program (GCHP) Scholarship Competition Friday, Jan. 27 on campus. More than 60 high school students will compete for a grand prize full tuition scholarship to Olivet College, as well as a number of additional scholarship awards throughout the day. Students were selected for the competition based on their academic standing. All of the competitors are high achieving, incoming Olivet College freshmen who met specific grade point average and ACT score requirements. During the event, students will participate in an interview session with faculty and staff members, as well as an essay writing competition. The program also includes information about the GCHP and honors classes at Olivet; a question-and-answer session with President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D., and other college officials; and individualized visits with admissions and financial aid representatives. The scholarship winners will be announced in February. For more information about the event, contact Matt Wait, J.D., GCHP director and associate professor of interdisciplinary studies, at (269) 749-4187 or mwait@olivetcollege.edu. « Back
