Seelye to speak at Olivet College March 21

Mickey Seelye, co-owner of Don Seelye Ford, will present as part of the Olivet College Business Administration and Economics Department’s Distinguished Speaker Series Wednesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. in Mott Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Seelye, who has worked in the family business for more than 10 years, will share strategies for creating and sustaining a successful business for three generations. In addition, he will speak about the importance of customer service in all business ventures.

Seelye’s grandfather Don started the business in 1963. Under his leadership, then Dons son Mike, the company has grown, and includes both new and pre-owned automotive sales, a full service body shop and rental service. The company was recently named the number one Kia dealership in the state and the number one volume dealership for pre-owned vehicles in southwest Michigan. Seelye is proudly following in the family tradition.

Seelye graduated from Olivet College in 2003 with a major in business administration, a concentration in marketing and a minor in health and wellness. He resides in Kalamazoo with his wife and two children.

The Distinguished Speakers Series is part of a continued commitment to student learning and the campus community. The series is intended to provide a forum for sharing topics of importance in today’s dynamic business environment.
