Olivet College to host historic Bible lecture and display
Apr 02, 2012
In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the first printing of the King James Version of the Bible, Olivet College will host a lecture and display of historic Bibles Wednesday, April 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Academic Center room 110. John Kondelik, former librarian at Olivet College and recently retired librarian at Albion College, will present an illustrated lecture and will display a First Edition King James Version of the Bible (one of just over 200 in existence) from Albion College’s collection, along with a number of other historic English translations of the Bible. The event, which is co-sponsored by Olivet College’s Humanities Department, Religious Studies Program and the Olivet Congregational Church, is free and open to the public. Donations to restore and repair Albion College’s copy of the King James Version of the Bible are appreciated. For more information, contact Rev. Jack Brown, Olivet Congregational Church Pastor, at jbrown@olivetcollege.edu. « Back
