High school student earns AINS designation through Olivet College, Eaton ISD and Farm Bureau Insurance program
Jun 05, 2012
The Eaton Intermediate School District Career Preparation Center and Olivet College partnered with Farm Bureau Insurance to offer the first insurance and risk management program for high school students during the 2011-12 academic year. Students had the opportunity at the end of each of the insurance courses to take The Institutes exam and work toward the Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation. Eric Dawdy, a senior from Holt High School, successfully completed all three exams and the ethics exam to earn this designation. Carol Breed, J.D., director of the Risk Management and Insurance Center at Olivet College, stated, “Earning the AINS designation at any stage of one’s insurance career is quite an accomplishment. To earn it as a college student is truly noteworthy; to earn the AINS as a high school senior is remarkable. I believe that this may be a first.” Dawdy plans to continue his education at Olivet College in the fall, majoring in insurance and risk management.
