Olivet College to host Family Weekend Sept. 21-23
Sep 12, 2012

Families of Olivet College students are invited to take an interactive glimpse of the student experience during Olivet College Family Weekend Sept. 21-23 on campus.

The event provides an opportunity for families to visit their student’s campus home, talk with faculty and staff, attend presentations, tour classrooms and facilities, cheer on Comet athletic teams, meet other Olivet College families and more.

“We’re looking forward to having families spend time on our beautiful campus with their son our daughter,” said Ronda Miller, associate dean for academic affairs and director of the Gruen and Speare Student Resource Center. “Family Weekend is the perfect opportunity for students and their parents to connect with faculty, staff and other Olivet College families, and for parents to get a true glimpse of their son or daughter’s college experience.”

The weekend’s itinerary begins with a check-in and pep rally Friday evening at the Cutler Event Center. Saturday’s activities include a pancake breakfast with President Steven M. Corey, Ph.D.; faculty meet-and-greet and educational sessions; a carnival with inflatable games; athletic events including football, women’s soccer and volleyball; Greek open houses; nature walk; dean’s reception; dinner; bonfire; Dash for Dollars event; and more. The weekend concludes Sunday with a breakfast and closing ceremony, and optional worship service at the Olivet Congregational Church.

The cost for the weekend, which includes meals and admission to all events, is $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12-and-under. Participants are asked to R.S.V.P. by Friday, Sept. 14 at www.olivetcollege.edu.
