Feb 26, 2013

Olivet College’s Business Administration Department is hosting Paul Traub as part of its Distinguished Speaker Series Wednesday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Mott Academic Center room 110. The event is free and open to the public.

Traub is currently the business economist at the Detroit branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Prior to joining the bank’s research department, Traub was president of Scenario Economics, LLC and senior economist for Americas Commercial Transportation Research Company, LLC.

In 2008 Traub retired after 25 years of service with Chrysler, where he worked in the corporate economist’s office for more than 17 years. During that time his responsibilities included tracking the economy and forecasting its impact on North American auto sales, supporting new product development and communicating with auto dealers and other professional organizations.

Traub is currently on the board of directors of the Detroit Association of Business Economists and is a member of the National Association of Business Economists. Traub also serves on advisory boards for the School of Business Administration for Baker College of Flint and the College of Management for Lawrence Technological University; and has served as an adjunct faculty member and is on the economics department advisory board in the School of Business Administration at Oakland University.
