Olivet College to host Patrick Combs March 20
Mar 07, 2013

Author and entertainer Patrick Combs will speak as part of Olivet College’s Lecture and Symposium Series Wednesday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Combs is widely known as a best-selling author, an awe inspiring speaker, and world class comical entertainer. It’s often been said by hundreds of campus hosts that no one is better qualified to teach and inspire students to succeed at their greatest passions.

Raised by a hard-working single mother, in a double-wide trailer and the first from his family tree to go to college Combs has navigated his life based on his soulful passions, daring to create his life on possibility, not probability. Since 1992, his inspirational speaking talents have propelled him to more than 1,300 speaking engagements for Ivy League and state universities, companies, associations and non-profits.

On more than 700 college campuses nationwide, for two decades now, Combs is known as a phenomenal and life changing inspirational speaker who gives a high energy, passionate, interactive keynote based on the advice in his bestselling book, “Major in Success.” The book has sold more than 120,000 copies, is used on campuses nationwide and was given a Best Book Award by the New York Public Library. For his expertise in helping college students succeed in their passion, Combs was invited onto “The View” for a one-on-one interview with Barbara Walters.

His skills as a comical entertainer have taken him on a rocket ride that identified him recently as one of the “funniest comedic talents in America.” For 10 years he has been one of the hottest comedic theater acts in the world and has garnered appearances at two of the most prestigious comedy festivals in the world, HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival. He’s also sold out Off-Broadway and was most recently signed by the worldwide producers of the Broadway hit show, “Stomp,” and a global tour for Combs is in the works.
