Olivet College Psych Club to present third annual Autism Awareness Concert
Apr 01, 2013

By Rebecca Anderson, senior

The Olivet College Psych Club is hosting its third annual Autism Awareness Concert Saturday, April 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. in MacKay Gymnasium. The concert will feature members of the Olivet College Jazz Ensemble and other local groups. April is Autism Awareness Month and all proceeds of the concert will be donated to the Mid Michigan Autism Association. The event is free and open to the public; however, donations are greatly appreciated.

The event will include live music, food and drinks, games, activities, a 50/50 raffle, a professional photographer, a caricature artist and a horse you can feed treats to and take pictures with. Games and activities include bracelet/necklace/keychain making, face painting, bags tournaments and sack races.

There are many ways to donate through the concert. Sponsorship packages are available for businesses, and blue puzzle pieces are available for anyone who makes a personal donation. The puzzle pieces will be displayed at the concert with the name of the individual on each piece.

For more information about the concert or sponsorship packages, contact Dina Battaglia, Ph.D., Psychology Program director and associate professor of psychology, at (269) 749-7579 or Megan Vermillion, Psych Club president, at mvermillion@olivetcollege.edu.
