Nagy named vice president for institutional advancement at Olivet College

Alan L. Nagy 68 has joined Olivet College to lead fund-raising, development and communications efforts in the colleges office of institutional advancement. Nagy has a bachelors degree from Olivet College and a masters from Central Michigan University.

Nagy comes to Olivet from Coastal Carolina University, where he served as vice president for university advancement. During his tenure at Coastal Carolina, Nagy was involved in major gift and planned giving fundraising. A 46% increase in dollars received was achieved under his direction. Nagy also helped to spearhead a two-year campaign that raised $2 million for the College of Science.

Prior to working for Coastal Carolina University, Nagy held the positions of director of development for Illinois State University in Normal, Ill., and development associate for leadership gifts at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

From 1988 to 1992, Nagy was employed at Olivet as director of development. In his previous position with the college, Nagy helped to organize and implement a comprehensive annual fund program, restructure the annual telemarketing program, and initiate a major gift program designed to enhance annual fund dollars.
