Bueche named vice president for community life at Olivet College
Jul 16, 2002

Olivet, Mich. – Julie Foster Bueche, a 1992 graduate of Olivet College, has returned to campus to serve as vice president of community life. Bueche comes to Olivet from Seyfarth Shaw Attorneys in Chicago where she was an associate for the labor and employment group. At Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Bueche focused on employment litigation and counseling as well as secondary, special and higher education law.

Julies extensive background in community life paired with her deep commitment to excellence and Olivet College make her an excellent leader, said Donald L. Tuski 85, Ph.D., president of Olivet College. As part of our strategic growth initiatives the college is seeking out new talent for key positions. We are all excited that Julie has joined the campus leadership team and will help guide Olivet College towards its bright future.

A native of New Lothrop, Michigan, Bueche earned her bachelors at Olivet, and a masters of science in college student personnel services at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She went on to earn her law degree from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.

I am thrilled to return to Olivet in a leadership role at such an exciting time for the college. My education at Olivet gave me a strong foundation for both work and study. I look forward to bringing this experience back to serve my alma mater as vice president of community life, said Bueche.

Bueche has substantial experience in community life, having worked in residence life at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Kettering University in Flint, Michigan. At Tulane, Bueche was involved with hiring, training and evaluating resident assistants, and creating and implementing a model for social and educational programming within the residence life area.

In addition to these accomplishments, Bueche has been heavily involved with her community. She volunteered at Notre Dames Immigration Law Clinic and at St. Joseph Hospitals Charity Ball in Ann Arbor Michigan. Julie has served Olivet College in many capacities, including as past president of the Alumni Council and past member of the Board of Trustees.
