Olivet College to host electronic recycling program during Service Day
Sep 19, 2013

Olivet College is teaming up with 5R Processors, Ltd. during its annual Fall Service Day to help the surrounding communities properly dispose of their household electronics equipment through recycling. Earthbound, the college’s environmental awareness student organization, is hosting the event, with proceeds benefiting their community outreach programs.

5R will be set up at the grounds building on College Street, east of the Congregational Church (one block off Main Street), Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., where they will be accepting any old, unwanted or obsolete electronics equipment. Additionally, 5R will provide Department of Defense-approved hard drive cleansing for $10. The event is open to the public and 5R is accepting residential equipment only.

5R will be accepting most consumer electronics and home office equipment including: computers, monitors, laptops, printers, TVs, cell phones, microwaves, household appliances and other related items for free. Items containing freon such as air conditioners, refrigerators or dehumidifiers have a charge of $25. For a complete list of acceptable items, please visit the 5R Events page at www.5rprocessors.com or call (715) 322-4480.

Service projects are organized by Olivet College employees, students, athletic teams, Greek societies and student organizations. Some activities are open to the public.
