OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College music program will present scenes from opera and musical theatre on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 27 at 3 p.m. in the Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. This event, which is held in conjunction with the Olivet Summer Opera Workshop, is free and open to the public.
The performers include Angela Boardman, a senior from DeWitt; Rachel Boardman, a resident of DeWitt; Julia Draper, a senior from Charlotte; Anna Ruth Munk, a sophomore from Lansing and Courtney Gilson-Piercey, an adjunct voice instructor at Olivet.
The singers will be accompanied by Ramona Kime-Graessle, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, and Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., director of the choral music program and assistant professor of music.
The event will include scenes from Puccinis Suor Angelica, Mozarts Magic Flute, Bizets Carmen and Delibes Lakme. Scenes, arias and ensembles from Sondheims Sweeney Todd, Rogers Oklahoma and Loewes Brigadoon will also be included.
