Heos named Olivet College Alumni Council chair
Jan 15, 2014
Pamela Heos has been named chair of the Olivet College Alumni Council. In this capacity, she will also serve as an ex officio member of the college’s board of trustees.
“I look forward to serving my alma mater in my new role,” Heos said. “I hope to inspire fellow alumni to become involved through their financial support, attendance at events, and in service to the college, its students, and promoting its name and reputation.”
In her role as chair, Heos will work with the council to enhance alumni programs and events, as well as student recruitment, fundraising and scholarships.
A 1977 graduate of Olivet College, Heos enrolled in graduate courses at Butler University and led a 20-year career as a commercial interior designer in Indianapolis. She moved back to Michigan in 2003 to serve Olivet College as major gifts officer until 2005. A native of Grand Blanc and current resident of East Lansing, she serves as director of alumni and donor relations at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Heos has been a member of the Olivet College Alumni Council for nearly 25 years. During that time, she served as 1977 class gift chair and oversaw the fundraising, purchase and donation of 10 red Olivet College benches for campus. In addition, she has served as 1977 class captain and Soronian Literary Society honorary member, and is a member of the Olivet College Legacy Society. She has also participated in a number of alumni activities and events, including the alumni choir.
“I have a deep and strong commitment to Olivet College, supporting its rich history and mission,” Heos said. “I believe in all it has stood for in its 170 years, providing an education to those who seek it, regardless of race or gender, and our further commitment to each of these students’ personal, academic and career success. This is the foundation of Olivet and it is why I feel so deeply committed to serving the college.”
