Two new members elected to Olivet College’s Board of Trustees

OLIVET, Mich. Dennis Daugherty of Mattawan and William Middlebrooks of Southfield have been named to Olivet Colleges Board of Trustees, according to an announcement by board chair David Hayhow. The two newly-elected members will serve four-year terms. Daugherty, a 1970 graduate of Olivet College, works for Crystal Flash, Advantage Tank Lines and Schneider National Carriers. He has also worked for Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, Ill. Daugherty has been an Olivet College Alumni Council member for nearly 20 years, serving as president and a scholarships and awards committee member. Daugherty was also a founding committee member of the colleges Oaks Society, which was established for those who contribute more than $1,000 to the colleges annual fund. He has 14 years of experience in safety and environmental work, six years as a tractor/trailer driver, four years as a high school teacher and two years in the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Middlebrooks is the founder and managing partner of Excellence in Action, Inc., a performance enhancement company specializing in providing customer service consulting and training. He has also held sales, sales management and general management positions with the IBM Corporations and Alternative Resources Corporation. Middlebrooks graduated from the University of Michigan in 1982 with a bachelors in business administration. The Olivet College Board of Trustees pursues policies and programs in accord with the colleges vision of an Education for Individual and Social Responsibility. The 29-member board strives to provide the best possible environment for students, faculty and staff to teach, learn and develop their abilities. « Back
