Olivet College to present faculty keyboard recital

OLIVET, Mich.The Olivet College music program is presenting a faculty recital in Olivets Congregational Church on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. The recital, which is free and open to the public, features Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., music program director, and Ramona Kime Graessle, Ph.D., an adjunct associate professor of music. The recital will include music for the organ, piano and piano duets. As an organist, Flynn has performed in Chicago, New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and has toured the south of France playing recitals in Lourdes, Paris and Pau. In addition to his work as an organist, conductor and countertenor, Flynn is a published composer of organ and choral works. Flynn holds a bachelors degree in voice and music history from George Mason University and a Ph.D. in musicology from Northwestern University. He has taught at Northwestern and DePaul universities, Harold Washington College and Lansing Community College. In addition to teaching at Olivet, Graessle has a private studio for adult piano students and teaches Kindermusik, an international program of preschool music classes. She is also the organist at the Congregational Church in Charlotte and plays violin in the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. Graessle earned her bachelors degree from Olivet College, masters degree in piano performance from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in piano pedagogy and music education from the University of Oklahoma. « Back
