National insurance symposium to be held at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College will host a national insurance symposium Sept. 26 and 27 in the Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. The program, titled The Extreme Risk Takers, will focus on the surplus lines insurance business that insures unusual or high-risk exposures, and features nationally recognized experts in the surplus lines business, including Charles McAlear, founder of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd., Lloyds of London and TAPCO Underwriters. The cost for the symposium is $5, which includes meals, a T-shirt and workshop materials. Lodging is available for an additional $70 for two nights. The event is sponsored by the Olivet College Insurance Program and Gamma Iota Sigma, the colleges national insurance fraternity.
