OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College jazz ensemble is performing Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 8:30 p.m. in the colleges Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Jonathon Gewirtz, adjunct instructor of music, the ensemble features Roy Backus, Olivet Congregational Church pastor, on saxophone; Dustin Beck, a junior from White Lake, on piano; Dave Keeney, a junior from Lansing, on bass guitar; Chris Onze, a junior from Mason, on guitar; and Jason Wright, a sophomore from Marshall, on drums.

The ensemble will perform works by Nat Adderly, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver and more.
