Olivet College to present faculty recital Jan. 20

OLIVET, Mich.The Olivet College music program is presenting a faculty recital in the Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The recital features flutist Danilo Mezzadri, director of Olivets instrumental music program, and soprano Susan Ruggiero-Mezzadri with assistance from pianist Yoo Jung Kim, adjunct professor of music at Lansing Community College and instructor at the Jackson Symphony Community Music School. Mezzadri has appeared as a guest soloist with many ensembles, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, MSU Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Pr-Msica Symphony Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro and the Camerata Florianpolis in Florianpolis, Brazil. Mezzadri is also a flutist in the Jackson and Greater Lansing symphony orchestras. Ruggiero-Mezzadri earned a bachelors of music from Michigan State University (MSU) in 2002 and is working towards a masters in voice and flute performance from the University of Michigan under a School of Music fellowship. She has performed in a number of operas including the role of Musetta in La Boheme in Tuscany, Italy last summer. Kim earned a bachelors in music with high honors from Kyung-Won University and a masters degree and doctorate from MSU. She has participated in the Eum-Yeon Music Festival in Korea, the London Music Festival and the Oregon Bach Festival. « Back
