Olivet College choral students to perform in Ontario

OLIVET, Mich.The Olivet College Womens Camerata will perform Saturday, May 8 at noon in the Knox Church in Stratford, Ontario.

Under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., Olivets music program director and assistant professor of music, and accompanied by Romana Kime Graessle, adjunct associate professor of music, the ensemble will sing music of Bernstein, Britten, Mendelssohn, excerpts from Pergolesis Stabat Mater and selections from Broadway.

The camerata consists of sopranos Angela Boardman, a senior from DeWitt, and Julia Draper, a senior from Charlotte; second sopranos Marie Gouba, a sophomore from Novi, and Anna Ruth Munk, a senior from Lansing; and altos Katherine Graebner, a junior from Olivet, and Margaret Todd, a sophomore from Bangor. French horn player, Elizabeth Flanary, a sophomore from Howell, will join the singers.

The group has performed around mid-Michigan and is preparing for a tour of England next spring. They are releasing a CD this summer titled There is Sweet Music.
