Olivet College to hold auditions for “The Tempest”

OLIVET, Mich.The Olivet College theatre program will be holding auditions for the play, The Tempest, Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. Prepared auditions are appreciated, but not required. Members of the community are welcome to audition; roles are open to all individuals regardless of gender. Written by William Shakespeare, the play tells a tale of shipwrecks, monsters and magic, sprinkled with a twist of humor and love. The cast will be announced Thursday, Sept. 2 and rehearsals are scheduled to begin Sept. 7. The Tempest will be performed Nov. 4 to 6 at the Oaks Theatre in downtown Olivet. The play will be directed by Arthur Williams, director of theatre at the college, with music by Dustin Beck, a music senior from White Lake.
