Olivet College set for fall Service Day
Sep 10, 2004

OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College is gearing up for its sixth annual fall Service Day Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Olivet College students, faculty and staff put aside their normal routine to volunteer on campus and in area communities as part of Service Day activities. Projects range from raking leaves to painting buildings and adopt-a-highway to habitat restoration.

Many students and employees come to Olivet College with a spirit of volunteerism and community service, said Lynn Ward Gray, executive director of diversity and service learning. Service Day is a great way to continue that spirit of giving back to the community and to the environment in which we live.

In addition to Service Day activities, students at Olivet complete a major-oriented service learning requirement, which encompasses a minimum of 40 hours of community service.
