Wilson named associate dean for academic affairs at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. Charles Wilson has been named associate dean for academic affairs at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Norma L. Curtis, vice president and dean for academic affairs.


Wilson will supervise the colleges Academic Support Services Center, which includes career services, academic advising, the writing program, at-risk intervention and the honors program. He will continue to direct the colleges special education endorsement program and serve as one of the colleges athletic faculty to the National Collegiate Athletic Association and on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Associations Board of Control.


Wilson previously served Olivet as the education department chair, director of the master in arts in teaching program and athletics director. His professional background includes working as principal of the W.J. Maxey Training School and as assistant athletics director at Michigan State University (MSU). He earned a bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in education from MSU.


Wilson is the past president of the Youth Development Corporation and serves on the board of directors of Leader of Employee Development for Greater Excellence.
