Olivet College presents choral concert: From Bach to Broadway

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College Choir and Womens Chorale is presenting a concert titled, From Bach to Broadway, Sunday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. in the Upton Conservatory Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.


Under the direction of music program director, Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., and accompanied by Ramona Kime Graessle, Ph.D., the college choir will perform selections from Miss Saigon, as well as traditional classics such as Faurs Cantique de Jean Racine. They will also perform movements from Viadanas Missa Lhora passa, Mozarts Missa Brevis, K. 220 and a new composition by ASCAP composer Jonathan Adam Summer Stars on a text by Carl Sandburg.


The womens chorale will sing folksong arrangements by Douglas Wagner and Ralph Vaughan Williams, including a Kings Singers arrangement of You are the New Day. Other selections will include music by Felix Mendelssohn and Martin Shaw.
