Olivet College wind ensemble to hold debut concert

OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College wind ensemble is presenting its debut concert, Past InspirationsFuture Aspirations, in the Olivet Congregational Church, Thursday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble will perform selections from Johann Sebastien Bach, Ron Nelson, Pavel Tchesnekoff and Ralph Vaughn-Williams.

Under the direction of Jeananne Nichols, instrumental studies director, the wind ensemble features Jennifer Berge, a freshman from Flat Rock; Brian Borders, a sophomore from Battle Creek; Amanda Charbonneau, a senior from Pinconning; Melanie Engels, a freshman from Battle Creek; Nick Gillim, a sophomore from Battle Creek; Jesse Gyger, a senior from Charlotte; Ann Marie Keisic, a sophomore from Sterling Heights; Shantell Mathis, a freshman from Detroit; Kayla Mohlman, a junior from Battle Creek; Ruthie Munk, a junior from Lansing; Denise Ritzer, a sophomore from Kalamazoo; Starr Roberts, a sophomore from Battle Creek; Kat Roesch, a sophomore from Oakland Twp.; Michael Ryan, a freshman from Eastpoint; Scott Sands, a freshman from Marshall; Jenny Shaw, a sophomore from Hastings; Marylouise Stevens, a sophomore from Mason; Margaret Todd, a junior from Bangor and Andrew Williams, a sophomore from Fenton.

Special guest soloists include Olivet College music students Diana Coronel, a junior from Holt; Elizabeth Flanary, a junior from Howell and Dave Keeney, a senior from Lansing.
