OLIVET, Mich. Elizabeth Flanary, a junior education major at Olivet College, has been selected as a member of the 2005 Small College Intercollegiate Band (SCIB).

Flanary, a native of Howell, plays the horn. She will perform in New Yorks Lincoln Center Feb. 23. Flanary is one of 80 students selected out of 181 nominations from 61 colleges and universities.

SCIB is sponsored by the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) and was created to provide greater performance opportunities for undergraduates of small colleges and universities. The band rehearses and performs as a part of CBDNAs biennial conference.

Flanary has performed as a soloist at several Olivet College events this year including the Presidents Opening Convocation and the Olivet College Wind Ensemble debut concert.
