OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College jazz ensemble is performing Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the colleges Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public. The ensemble will perform works by Benny Golson, Lee Morgan, Horace Silver and more.

Under the direction of Jonathon Gewirtz, adjunct instructor of music, the ensemble features Dustin Beck, a senior from White Lake, on piano; Melanie Engels, a freshman from Battle Creek, on alto saxophone; Marie Gouba, a junior from Novi, singing vocals; Jesse Gyger, a senior from Charlotte, on alto saxophone; Dave Keeney, a senior from Lansing, on bass guitar; Michael McKeever, a freshman from Holland, on trombone; Chris Onze, a senior from Mason, on guitar; and Jason Wright, a junior from Marshall, on drums.
