OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College music program is presenting a faculty recital in the Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. The recital will feature Jonathon Gewirtz, an adjunct instructor of music at Olivet. The event is free and open to the public.

Gewirtz, a tenor saxophonist, will perform a jazz recital featuring pieces by John Coltrane, Charles Parker and Wayne Shorter. He will also introduce a new piece that he composed especially for the performance.

Gerwirtz will be accompanied by Bill Bastian on piano, Ed Fedewa on bass guitar, and Lawrence Leathers on drums. The performers are residents of Lansing.
