OLIVET, Mich.The annual Olivet College Comet Classic 5K Run and Stroll through the Oaks is Saturday, July 30. The 5K competitive run and fitness walk begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of the colleges Burrage Library, and the stroll through the oaks (one-mile walk and family fun run) begins at 8:45 a.m.

The registration fees are $18 for adults 18 and older; $8 for students 13 to 17, or Olivet College students; $5 for children 12 and under; and $30 for a family with at least one adult. The registration deadline is July 22. A $5 late fee will be added to those who register past this date. Late registration and packet pick-up is from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. the morning of the race.

Awards are given to the top overall individual finishers, both male and female, and to top division finishers. Each runner or walker receives a T-shirt and a chance to win door prizes.

The event is held in conjunction with the city of Olivets Firemens Festival and the Olivet Lions Classic Wheels Show. For more information or to obtain a registration form, call (269) 749-7631.
