Olivet College and community partnering for annual “Night on the Town”

OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College students will have the opportunity to learn more about the services and products offered in the city of Olivet during the third annual Night on the Town, Monday, Aug. 22 from 5-7 p.m. in downtown Olivet. The event, which is open to the public, is sponsored by Olivet College and the Olivet Community Chamber of Commerce. Chartwells, the colleges food service provider, will serve a picnic-style dinner downtown. The cost for the dinner is $6 for community members and is free for students who use their college IDs. More than 30 businesses are expected to participate with coupon giveaways, free samples and prize drawings. The event will also feature live music and a rock climbing wall. Night on the Town is being held in conjunction with the colleges Welcome Week. The 2005 fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 22. Additional Welcome Week activities include the Presidents Opening Convocation on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium and Stand Up at 5 p.m. in the College Square.
