Olivet College announces fall music schedule

OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College music program announces its fall 2005 schedule. All of the events are free and open to the public.
Faculty Recital – Sunday, Sept. 18, 3 p.m., Olivet Congregational Church A faculty recital featuring pianists Ramona Kime Graessle, adjunct associate professor of music, and Timothy Flynn, music program director and assistant professor of music, along with Craig Suhusky, adjunct clarinet instructor. The faculty will perform the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Edvard Grieg, Francis Poulenc and Maurice Ravel.
Choral Concert: This Shall be for Music- Sunday, Oct. 2, 3 p.m. Olivet Congregational Church Choral concert featuring the Olivet College womens chorale and college choir, Timothy Flynn, conductor, and Ramona Kime Graessle, piano; performing music by George F. Handel, Henry Purcell, John Rutter and Sir Charles Wood.
Olivet College Wind Ensemble: Shortcut Home – Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m., Olivet Congregational Church Under the direction of Jeananne Nichols, assistant professor of music and director of instrumental studies, the wind ensemble will perform music by Leonard Bernstein, Percy Grainger, Dana Wilson and Charles R.Young.
Fall Musical – Friday Sunday, Nov. 4 and 5, 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 6, 1 p.m., Oaks Theatre A musical production featuring Marry Me a Little by Stephen Sondheim and One False Move by Susan Kander, directed by Timothy Flynn, with Ramona Kime Graessle as accompanist.
Rejoice! A Holiday Choral Concert- Sunday, Nov. 20, 3 p.m., Olivet Congregational Church The concert will feature the Olivet College womens chorale and college choir with special alumni guests and friends. They will be joined by the Fortissimo Singers of Olivet High School and accompanied by a professional string ensemble.
Student Recital – Monday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m., Margaret Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall All instrumental and vocal music majors and minors will present a student recital.
Olivet Jazz Ensemble – Friday, Dec. 2, 7:30 p.m., Margaret Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall Under the direction of Jonathon Gewirtz, adjunct saxophone instructor, the Olivet College Jazz Ensemble will perform jazz standards and a variety of jazz arrangements.
