Olivet College lecture and symposium to focus on 9/11

OLIVET, Mich. Mary Carouba and Susan Hagen, co-authors of Women at Ground Zero: Stories of Courage and Compassion, will present as part of Olivet Colleges Lecture and Symposium Series Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Mott Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Carouba is an investigative social worker for the Adult Protective Services in Santa Rosa, Calif. Hagen is a journalist and retired firefighter and emergency medical technician from Sonoma County, Calif. Their presentation includes vivid and emotional stories told to them by 30 women who risked their lives at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, and concludes with a tribute to those women who made the ultimate sacrifice to save others.
