Carrigan promoted to director of campus safety at Olivet College

OLIVET, Mich. Jay Carrigan has been promoted to director of campus safety at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Linda McWright, Ph.D., Olivets vice president and dean of student life. He previously worked as the campus safety supervisor and assistant football coach for three years. Carrigan replaces Phil Reed, who has been appointed assistant professor of criminal justice at the college. Carrigans responsibilities include working to ensure the safety and security of Olivets 52-acre campus community and property. He will also evaluate, schedule, supervise and train security personnel to patrol campus buildings and enforce security at residence life activities including social and athletic events. In addition, Carrigan is responsible for enforcing all local, state and federal laws on Olivets campus. Carrigan, who earned a bachelors degree in psychology from Spring Arbor University, resides in Olivet. He is also the varsity football coach at Battle Creek St. Philip High School. Before coming to Olivet, he was a football coach at Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids. « Back
