OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College is hosting a Library Book Talk Series Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the Burrage Library Lecture Room. Loel Shuler, a 1943 Olivet graduate, will share her book AlaskaIn the Wake of the North Star. The event is free and open to the public. The book shares her story and photographs of people and places facing extinction. Shuler lived in southeast Alaska from 1949 to 1961. During that time she hosted radio programs, wrote and directed Alaska Day pageants and inaugurated the Sitka Drama Society. Today, she continues to write, as well as teach theater to children and adults in the Monterey, Calif., area. For more information about the book talk, call (269) 749-7164. « Back
