Olivet College Jazz Ensemble to perform Dec. 2

OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College Jazz Ensemble will perform Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the colleges Upton Conservatory of Music Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Jonathon Gewirtz, adjunct instructor of music, the ensemble will perform a variety of jazz standards, blues and bebop arrangements by Clifford Brown, Duke Ellington and Charles Parker. The concert will feature student soloists Jae Baetens, a freshman from Holland, on alto saxophone, Ian Tuski, a student from Olivet, on guitar, along with vocalist Sarah Brugger, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla. The ensemble also features Brugger on piano; Charles Dionese, a student from Lansing Community College, on drums; David Lewis, a sophomore from Marshall, on trumpet; and Marylouise Stevens, a junior from Mason, on bass guitar. « Back
