Olivet College calls for entries in the Abbie M. Copps Poetry Competition

OLIVET, Mich.The Olivet College Department of Humanities is calling for entries to its 43rd annual Abbie M. Copps Poetry Competition. Deadline for entries is Wednesday, Feb. 1; grand prize is $150 and publication in the Garfield Lake Review, the colleges literary arts magazine. The winning poem will be announced Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Dole Halls Klock Commons.

Only unpublished, unsigned poems of 100 lines or less are accepted. There is no limit to the number of entries per person, but there is a $2 per poem fee. Entries should be submitted in an envelope containing the unsigned, typed poem(s), entry fee, a sealed envelope containing the name, address and phone number of the poet. On the outside of the enclosed envelope, include the first line of the poem.

Entries can be sent to Laura Barlond-Maas, associate professor of English, Department of Humanities, Olivet College, 320 S. Main St., Olivet, MI 49076.
