OLIVET, Mich. Olivet College is hosting a presentation Men Empowering Men One in Four, Monday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. in Mott Auditorium. The event is being presented by Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates (SAPA), a group from Central Michigan University.

One in Four refers to the statistic that one in four women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. SAPA has traveled all over the country to various campuses and also trained military cadets on issues relevant to sexual aggression among peers. The group also shared their message at Olivet last year.

SAPA defines sexual assault, teaches men how to be supportive of survivors, and encourages men to confront ideas and actions that promote or allow for the occurrence of sexual assault.

The presentation is sponsored by the Betsy Dole Womens Resource Center at Olivet College. The center provides information, education and services related to the gender issues of the colleges women and men.
