Olivet College presents a celebration of the music of Mozart

OLIVET, Mich. The Olivet College music program is presenting a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of W.A. Mozart Sunday, April 9 at 3 p.m. in the Olivet Congregational Church. The event is free and open to the public. Under the direction of Timothy Flynn, Ph.D., music program director and assistant professor of music, and accompanied on piano by Ramona Kime Graessle, Ph.D., adjunct associate professor of music, the Olivet College Womens Chorale and College Choir will perform selections from Mozarts sacred repertory including movements from the Requiem and the Missa Brevis, with a professional string ensemble. The choir will be joined by Olivet alumna Angela Boardman, soprano, in arias from Cosi fan Tutte and The Magic Flute. Other soloists include Danielle Adams, a junior from Battle Creek; Jeremy Adams, a freshman from Novi; Sarah Brugger, a junior from Okemos; Tina Honecker, a senior from Olivet; Eleni Mitropoulos, a sophomore from Bronson; and Curtis Scott, a teacher certification student from Charlotte. Graessle and Flynn will perform movements from the Piano Sonata. Louise Tuski, adjunct instructor of theatre, will read selections from Mozarts letters to compliment the music performed.
