Olivet College Wind Ensemble concert set for April 11

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College Wind Ensemble will present a free concert Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Olivet Community Schools Auditorium at Olivet High School.

The ensemble, under the direction of Jeananne Nichols, director of instrumental studies and assistant professor of music at Olivet, will present Your Passport, Please, which will include musical selections by Larry Daehn, Norman Dello Joio, Henry Purcell and others.

Two students, Kayla Mohlman, a senior from Battle Creek, and Michael Ryan, a sophomore from Eastpointe, will serve as student conductors for a portion of the program.

The wind ensemble features Danielle Adams, a junior from Battle Creek, on saxophone; Annie Bahling, a sophomore from Lachine, on horn; Bryan Borders, a junior from Battle Creek, on trombone; Sarah Brugger, a junior from Okemos, on percussion; Barbara Despins, a senior from Springfield, on clarinet; Amanda Egmer, a freshman from Constantine, on trumpet; Melanie Engels, a junior from Battle Creek, on saxophone; Ann Marie Keisic, a junior from Sterling Heights, on flute; Shane Koehler, a junior from Battle Creek, on bass clarinet; David Lewis, a junior from Marshall, on trumpet; Amanda Livingston, a sophomore from Bellevue, on euphonium; Shantell Mathis, a sophomore from Detroit, on flute; Kristina Mellinger, a freshman from Constantine, on trombone; Michele Michalek, a senior from Stanton, on saxophone; Eleni Mitropoulos, a sophomore from Bronson, on clarinet; Mohlman, on clarinet; Shauneene Peterson, a junior from Battle Creek, on bassoon; Denise Ritzer, a junior from Kalamazoo, on saxophone; Kat Roesch, a senior from Oakland Twp., on percussion; Ryan, on tuba; Chad Sands, a freshman from Marshall, on euphonium; Scott Sands, a sophomore from Marshall, on euphonium; Curtis Scott, a teacher certification student from Charlotte, on trumpet; Jenny Shaw, a senior from Hastings on bassoon; Marylouise Stevens, a junior from Mason, on percussion; Adam Vest, of Battle Creek, on trumpet; Jenny Vest, a junior from Homer, on trombone; Jennifer Wagg, a freshman from Brighton, on horn; and Andrew Wasson; a freshman from Grand Ledge, on tuba.
